The purpose of this brief was to recreate an album cover while incorporating a strong handmade element and interpreting the album’s theme through the final design.

I hand-pressed native flowers to create the butterfly wings, and used sticks to form the outline, lettering, and numbers.

For the front cover, I wanted to give the butterfly a new life using flowers, something beautiful, yet fleeting, as picked flowers quickly lose their colour and die. The dead butterfly was reflected on the back cover. The contrast between the two butterflies represents the album’s themes of light and darkness.
